March 29th and March 30th:Closed Campus
April 13th (Wednesday) Field Trip to the zoo


Field Trip April 13th
On April 13th, we will be taking a trip to the Houston Zoo. The cost of the field trip will be $4.00. District employees and students must ride the bus. If a parent has volunteered to be a chaperon they must have a raptor tag created at school first and then drive themselves to the field trip. Siblings are not allowed to attend the field trip.

This week we are learning:
Math: This week in math we will continue to look at adding two digit numbers with regrouping. Students will  begin to move away from manipulatives. They will have a problem solving worksheet over addition with regrouping this week.  By the end of the week, students should have a strong foundation of adding with regrouping as well as be able to explain why we regroup.

Science: We will be continuing our unit over natural resources.  Students will be able to identify natural resources, such as fresh water and salt water. They will be able to compare the different types of water as well as discuss the living organisms that live there.  

Reading: Poetry, poetry elements, reading poetry to build comprehension.

Writing: Poetry

Social Studies: American Symbols

Week of March 7th-11th

This week we are learning:

Math: This week in math we will be having a test over Numeracy and time. Students should have a review that they they will take home as well as a review that will be done in class.  We will begin to look at addition of two digit numbers with regrouping. This will be towards the end of the week and students will get to work with manipulatives  to see the changes being made within the addition sentences. 

Science: We will be continuing our unit over natural resources. We will be having our science test later this week. Students will be going over a review in class for this exam.  Students will be able to identify natural resources and discuss how we can conserve these resources. 

Reading: Introducing poetry, poetry elements, different kinds of poetry.
Writing: Introducing poetry

Social Studies: American Symbols

Come and visit at Open House Tomorrow from 6:30-7:30pm!

Students will have a scavenger hunt and can receive up to 20 bird tracks for completing a scavenger hunt and can receive 10 more bird tracks if parents complete a survey in the computer lab!!!

Open House This Tuesday 6:30-7:30
