Week of October 12-16

It is going to be a great week!

Homework: 

Math: Problem Solving Worksheet (4 questions)

Reading: Reading log. We need a parent signature and students to write a sentence that tells about the book each night.
Writing: Word Study Assessment and Study Sight Words

This week we are learning:

Math: We will continue problem solving addition and subtraction problems. This week students will be introduced to the open number line which is another strategy that they can use to add and subtract numbers. They will also work in stations over previous taught concepts such as place value and comparing numbers. 

Science: Students will review some of the patterns of the Earth such as the seasons, weather, and the water cycle. They will take their Science COT on Wednesday. The rest of the week we will continue to hit on patterns of the Earth and will be sure to clear up any misconceptions that the students may have. 

Reading: We will be learning about how to make inferences about characters.

Writing: Author Celebration (Students will be sharing their final draft to the class)

Social Studies: Students will be reviewing citizenship, maps and geography.

October 12- 16 Bully Prevention Week

Wednesday, October 14th -Chilis Spirit Night 4-9 pm

Wednesday, October 14th- Science COT over patterns (Review will be done in class)

Thursday, October 15th- Black out Bullying Day wear Black

 Friday, October 16th is Early Dismissal 12:40.

Friday, October 16th Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held this afternoon. Please make sure to signup for a time with your child's homeroom teacher.
