Math:
This week we will beginning our measurement unit. The students will be able to find the length of object using concrete models for standard units of length. The students will be able to determine the lengths of objects by measuring them with rulers, yardsticks, and meter sticks. They will be creating anchor charts in their math journal with benchmarks for each unit of measurement. This week we are looking closely at length so they should be able to discuss with you what is about the length of an inch, foot, yard, mile, centimeter and meter.

Science:
We will be investigating the effects of an object  by increasing or decreasing the amount of light, heat, and sound energy. We will spend a little over a week over each form of energy. Students will have hands on labs and will create an energy book over their discoveries throughout the next few weeks. This week students will be mainly focusing on light energy.
