Homework and Donations to Fun Run!

April 15th DASH DAY- This is the day the kids have been working towards! They get to run a pretty awesome obstacle course.  Because it is a half day, a special schedule has been created to allow for a 30 minute run time for each grade. This will occur rain or shine.

This week we are learning:

Math: We will continue practice addition and subtraction with regrouping. We will be paying close attention to problem solving with this skill.  Students will do a problem solving scoot where they will have to answer word problems using the UPS strategy. We will have a review for our COT in class. Our COT will be given next week over addition and subtraction. 

Science: We will continue our unit on life cycles and adaptations. Students will be able to draw and label the life cycle of a frog. Students will be observing tadpoles in the classroom. Students will have an in class review and a COT this week. 

Reading:Fairy Tales

Writing: Writing a fractured fairy tales

Word Study: oa 

Social Studies: American Symbols

Please join our Golbow community for an amazing opportunity from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 30th. Golbow will be the site for a Comcast Cares project in which we come together as a community to take pride in beautifying Golbow by completing various landscaping and other projects to increase the curb appeal and look of Golbow. Share this with as many people as you want to come together as a community for Golbow! Golbow gets a donation from Comcast for every volunteer... we get to register.

2) Go to the bottom of the list where it says “or connect with…” and select to register with either your Facebook, Google +, Yahoo, or your Windows Live account and agree to terms
3) Sign in with your information with this account and it will take you to another page
4) Fill in your T shirt size
5) When it says “Who invited you?” then select the dropdown in the list that says “organization”
6) **Type in “PTA Texas Congress” and this will appear in the list for you to select**
7) Read the terms, scroll down to the bottom of them, and click that you agree to terms if you do
8) Click “continue”
9) On the next page you can invite guests who are 18 years or older or add any guests who are under 18 or those who do not have email that will volunteer with you
10) Click “continue”
11) On the next page you have the option to share on your social media
12) Click “Done” and you are all finished

Field Trip April 13th
On April 13th, we will be taking a trip to the Houston Zoo. The cost of the field trip will be $4.00. District employees and students must ride the bus. If a parent has volunteered to be a chaperon they must have a raptor tag created at school first and then drive themselves to the field trip. Siblings are not allowed to attend the field trip.
